Chevy trucks make great companions for rough excursions. Here are a few 2022 Chevrolet trucks that make off-road adventures more fun as you explore more of Ohio this summer.
2022 Chevrolet Colorado Z71
Equipped with a punchy 3.6-liter V6 engine under the hood, the Colorado Z71 makes a great choice if you want a smaller off-road vehicle that still holds its own on the trails. The Z71 Off-Road Suspension Package, automatic locking rear differential, transfer case shield, and HD Rear Vision Camera are just some of the elements that will help you feel poised and prepared when you venture off the beaten path.
2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTD Trail Boss
The Silverado 1500 LTD Trail Boss borrows the Colorado Z71’s suspension package, while incorporating an Autotrac® 2-speed transfer case. The 2-inch factory suspension lift gives this truck more height so you can see a bit farther down the trail you’re traversing. Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac® tires boost traction when the road is messy while a remote vehicle starter system lends convenience when you’re off-roading on one of Ohio’s chillier days.
2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2
Chevy designed the Silverado ZR2 to appease Colorado Z71 fans who wanted something a bit bigger and brawnier. This trim jives with an outdoorsy lifestyle and makes off-roading a breeze. The 6.2-liter V8 translates to 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque for an energetic ride quality. The 10-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Transmission Range Selector means smoother gear shifts and more customized performance when you need it. 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory® Mud Terrain tires give the truck more grip on slick or slushy terrain, while large underbody skid plates shield the undercarriage from scratches as you blaze new trails and kick up some debris. Super Cruise™ is a semi-autonomous driving tool that relies on a network of cameras and a high-precision map, as well as GPS sensing and GPS-enhanced data. It works in tandem with Adaptive Cruise Control to operate the vehicle safely and effectively in a variety of traffic conditions. Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane-Centering are also part of Super Cruise™, to further boost passenger safety during your travels.
Like with other semi-autonomous technologies, Super Cruise™ does require some human involvement. The Driver Attention System monitors the driver’s head position during a trip and, when manual steering is essential, it alerts the driver to take the wheel.
When planning a trip with a Super Cruise™-equipped Silverado High Country, you get the assurance of a vast network of Super Cruise™-compatible roads. There are more than 200,000 miles of roads in the U.S. and Canada alone. You can also use it when towing a trailer with your High Country.
The best way to find out what Super Cruise™ does is to experience it hands-on … or off, as it were. Contact the team at Dave Kehl Chevrolet to set up a test drive in a new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country and see how Chevy keeps finding new roads for making driving exciting.
Here at Dave Kehl Chevrolet, we were already getting excited about the upcoming 2024 Silverado EV — and a new television ad spot has only increased our anticipation for this all-new electric truck.
Chevrolet’s “New Generation” commercial stars the Silverado EV and a couple of surprise guests — actors Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler from “The Sopranos,” the beloved classic TV series about mob boss Tony Soprano and his family.
In the commercial, Sigler and Iler can be seen in their roles as Soprano’s children Meadow and A.J. The ad reprises the show’s iconic opening credits, except this time around it’s Sigler driving through the New Jersey suburbs behind the wheel of the Silverado EV.
Throughout the commercial, we get to see some of the Silverado EV’s coolest features, including its available 24-inch wheels and Four Wheel Steer capabilities, its 17-inch display screen, and its fixed glass roof. At the end, Sigler connects the truck to a charger to top off its estimated 400 miles of driving range. Using a 350kW fast charger, the truck can add up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes according to GM estimates.
The 2024 Silverado EV will be available starting next spring. Initially, it will be offered in WT and RST First Edition trims, with additional models to follow.
Range estimate based on current capability of analytical projection consistent with SAE J1634 revision 2017 – MCT. Actual range may vary based on several factors, including temperature, terrain, battery age, loading, and how you use and maintain your vehicle. EPA estimates not yet available.

Fall means pumpkin patches and falling leaves, but it also means it’s time for seasonal maintenance for your truck. Prepare your truck for autumn and cooler weather with these basic maintenance tips.
Inspect car battery
Make sure the cables of your car battery are tightly connected and clean. If you notice signs of corrosion, disconnect the cables and terminals and clean them.
Maximize the mileage on your truck tires by rotating the tires and checking the tread to see if you need to replace them. Consider purchasing winter tires to increase your truck’s traction on snowy roads around Mechanicsburg this winter.
New oil prevents your engine from overheating and keeps your engine parts lubricated. Bring your truck into Dave Kehl Chevrolet for your regular oil change and seasonal maintenance. Check your owner’s manual to see when you should bring your Chevy truck in for an oil change.
During fall, it will start getting darker sooner. That means it’s important to have clear night vision. Clouded lenses can reduce the effectiveness of your headlights at night. If your headlights are becoming cloudy or hazy, restore your headlights with a headlight restoration kit.
Clean off the summer bugs and prepare for the snowy grime with a good car wash. Washing and waxing your truck can protect the paint and body while making it look fresh and new.
Most so-called cutting-edge trucks are content with tailgates that do one thing. Chevrolet has different ideas of how a truck should work. That’s why it’s introducing its awesome six-function Multi-Flex Tailgate for the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado HD, available soon at Dave Kehl Chevrolet in Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
So what are the six functions of the Multi-Flex Tailgate? In addition to the primary gate that goes up and down, this tailgate offers primary gate and inner gate load stop settings to accommodate longer items and multiple tiers of items. There’s also an easy-access setting that folds down the inner gate so that you can move items in and out of the bed more easily.
If you need to get into the bed of your Silverado HD, the Multi-Flex Tailgate makes it a synch with a full-width step setting. And for those little breaks in between tasks, the inner gate work surface setting gives you an area to put your elbows up and take a breather. The Multi-Flex Tailgate will be available on all 2022 Chevrolet Silverado HD models. The latest heavy-duty truck from Chevy will be arriving soon at Dave Kehl Chevrolet in Mechanicsburg. Call or email to learn when it hits the showroom so you can be one of the first to take it for a test drive.
