Chevrolet and its iconic Silverado truck have debuted on the short form video platform TikTok with a new music video of country artist BRELAND’s “My Truck.” The new version of the song featured in the video includes the line “My Chevy truck,” shouting out the bowtie brand’s versatile lineup of pickup trucks.
Chevrolet is one of the first auto brands to launch a TikTok, reaching a wide range of new customers on a platform used largely by people in their early 20s, many of whom are joining the workforce or starting small businesses and need a reliable pickup.
The collab between BRELAND and Chevrolet was a match made in heaven, according to BRELAND, who said that Chevy “truly understand what makes truck culture so special.” BRELAND said that trucks are appealing to a younger and more diverse audience than ever, which is why TikTok was a perfect platform to showcase the Silverado 1500.
“They appreciate that truck enthusiasts are getting younger and more diverse, and that insight was the inspiration for the original version of the song,” said BRELAND. “Coming to the table with that shared perspective made the collaborative process of rewriting ‘My Truck’ so much fun.”
The music video was filmed in different areas of Nashville, Tennessee, which was intended to portray the diversity of the city, Chevy truck customers, and the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado lineup. BRELAND is featured singing in front of Silverado trucks in a field, riding in a Silverado on a racetrack, and interacting with other Chevy drivers at a busy fairground.
